When to use this paper
Square grids are the flexible choice for arithmetic, geometry, scale drawings, lettering, craft patterns, and quick plans. A 10 mm grid is comfortable for elementary math and large sketches; 5 mm gives more detail without making the page busy.
How to create and print an accurate grid
Choose A4, Letter, or Legal paper, then select portrait or landscape orientation. Adjust the spacing, line color, and line weight while checking the live preview. Add coordinate axes only when the task needs a defined origin and x and y directions.
Download PDF for a print-ready vector document, SVG for an editable vector, or PNG for an image. In the print dialog, choose the same paper size and select 100% or Actual size. Disable Fit to page and Shrink to printable area so the measured grid spacing does not change.
Choosing useful grid settings
Use wider spacing for handwriting, demonstrations, and younger learners. Choose a finer grid for detailed drawings, calculations, or compact layouts. Pale blue or gray lines provide guidance without competing with pencil or ink; increase line weight only when the printer produces lines that are too faint.
The generator works locally in the browser and requires no account. Your settings are not uploaded. You can return to the controls, change one parameter, and export another version for a different lesson, drawing, notebook, or printer.
Paper size and orientation
A4 measures 210 × 297 mm and is standard in most countries. Letter measures 8.5 × 11 inches and is common in North America. Legal measures 8.5 × 14 inches. Portrait fits worksheets and notebooks; landscape gives graphs and diagrams more horizontal room.
